The best food ive ever had. Mrs. betty is just so nice and helpful and the cook megan really knows how to cook some food not to mention shes my bsf mom but every time i go to her house we all go to the railhead and she makes us the best food ever. 10/10 would recomend

Staff was very friendly made made us feel at home and quite place to enjoy a meal.

Baked potato was cold, Blackened Chicken was a salt lick, service was almost nonexistent even though there were very few customers. We never do reviews but after dining here 3 times it has not changed. Told cashier, who apologized while taking our money. Well my money won’t be stopping there any longer.

I really didn't care for my food although the hutch puppies were good but they were burnt but then that's the first time that I have a hush puppy I liked it better than the catfish that I had. The restaurant is decorated with trains and pictures of trains and that is cute however this is not the old original train station the original train station part of it is just down the street less than a block

This cafe is a true piece of Americana.The chicken .... awesome. Everything is made when ordered so it is hot and fresh. Locals frequent the cafe which to me is a good sign. Not just tourists.Great friendly service. Our server spent time with us talking about the area and her ambitions. Great gal.

Love it, my husband had the philly cheese steak and my father and I had the all you can eat Saturday special..fried catfish with 2 sides and we couldn't finish our plates. It was ALL delicious and service was friendly.

We had lunch here. She had the chicken fried chicken and he had the blackened chicken breast. The main meals were very delicious! We loved the garlic mashed potatoes, too... just the right hint I garlic for us. We topped the meal off with some coconut cream pie, and it was so delicious! Friendly staff, good prices... we would definitely come back.

Service is kind and caring! Down home kind of place. All you can eat catfish is awesome!!!

My family and I love the food an atmosphere

My husband and I stopped here on our country cruise and liked it. The place is cozy and cute, the staff super friendly and sweet. Both waitresses were very attentive. I ordered a grilled fish plate with fried cabbage/sauteed zucchini and my husband ordered the country fried steak with mashed potatoes. The food was okay, but a little bland for my taste.

Great food. Big portions. Ate there passing thru town and would totally go back. Southern style comfort foods. Onions rings tasted fantastic. The chicken fried chicken is a town favorite and I found out why.

Nice historic building and a good basic small town family restaurant. The cheese steak sandwich was good. If ever in the area and hungry, it is a good choice for a fresh cooked meal.

Best chicken fried steak in town, even though the bottom was a little more crispy than I would've liked.

I go to the Railhead Cafe because they have a $12 plate of fish and hush puppies that is to die for. And their side orders are fantastic Just Like Home Cooking. You must try the cooked cabbage it is sweet and Southern. Everything they have is great and they even have Sunday hours.

Friendly atmosphere great food

This place is our absolute favorite. Great and friendly service and their food is awesome! We always get the catfish, and it is by far the best catfish I have ever had.

Stopped in here for brunch right when they opened at 11. I started with the pick 3 appetizers with the fried pickles, poppers, and mushrooms. Everything tasted fresh but it all seemed too cold. I then got my entree, the philly cheesesteak and it was good but my fries were not warm either. I think they may have their fryer too low. As a last note, the place felt dirty for just opening. There was food crumbs all over the floor and on the dining chairs. For the waitress having nothing to do but serve us and look at her phone, she had plenty of time to pick up a broom.

We had the Texas Cheese Steak sandwich (made with ribeye steak) with French Fries and the Small Chicken Fried Steak with Fried Okra. The food was great! Those French fries rock! The wait staff was attentive. The prices are reasonable.

Just had lunch there and it was great. They made a mistake on my order and were forthcoming about it and kept my tea filled while I waited. Great service good food. It is a bit pricey but worth it. All prepared fresh and has that home cooked flavor. I will definitely be going back for lunch again!

Just moved into Lytle and happen to be searching for somewhere to eat. We arrived here at 720 pm mind you they close at 8 pm I felt bad because we were a party of 10 and so close to closing we were going stop. Coming in we were welcomed by a gentleman who invited us to have a seat. We do not regret coming here at all the food was delicious the plates were well served and the gentleman who welcomed us in happen to be our waiter named Jesse man he was sweetheart made us feel super welcomed, Great outstanding service. This definitely will be our go to restaurant ❤️ Thank you

Best place for your buck.

Food was really great, the service was terrible, no refills on drinks, the waitress never came back until we were finished eating , we requested more sauce and no one ever came back..we won't be back due to poor service

For what it is, this place is good. The food is decent and is made to order. The wait staff is a bit nonchalant, but at least barely adequate. We would return.

The service was great, the food not so great. Everything was just bland, no flavor, no salt. Sorry but it was worse then hospital food. My mom's baked potato was cold. But they did bring her another one. The Mac and cheese was also bland, I had to add salt and pepper to give it some kind of flavor. I had the fish and that was ok. Oh and "1" hush puppy comes with it and 2 sides. This was my second time here and it was over a year the 1st time and it was bad. I figured by now it would of gotten better.. But it's just my opinion 😁

You gotta love it when you feel completely welcome when walking into a cafe... And the Texans vibe here is one to be savored. And I definitely would recommend their rolls with the cinnabutter!😭😍😍😍
